Flower EXTRAVAGANZA!

I spent quite awhile moping about the flowers taking their own sweet time. Thanks to the recent warm weather in DC, that is no longer a problem. So I thought I'd show off the flowers I've been eagerly anticipating. Stay tuned for details on the new plants from the arboretum plant show and the Silver Spring debut of the hosta ranch.

The front yard is full of tulips. So much nicer than the rounded shrubberies that lived there last year.

The tulips were ready for their closeups. Couldn't manage to show how pretty they were with the wide-shot.

The backyard is awash in daffodils and tulips. I was impressed with how we managed to fill the planting beds, but I forgot that in a few weeks these will be gone. For right now, yellow is my favorite color.

We have several kinds of daffodils, tried to get a close up on a few of them.

Was all of this worth planting for hours in the 40 degree weather? Maybe. If these come back next year, definitely!
